Carmelita-Mirador Circuit

The Carmelita-El Mirador circuit is located in the Northern part of the Maya Biosphere Reserve, crossing the Multiple Use Zone and the Mirador-Río Azul National Park, one of the most important heritage reserves in the world, home to more than 200 Mayan cities in a lush tropical rainforest, home to a great diversity of plants and animals.

Along 55 km of trails, you will have the opportunity to appreciate the great cities of the Preclassic period, such as El Mirador, Nakbe and El Tintal and other smaller sites, connected by a network of road extensions, which are now scattered over a unique landscape within the Mayan Forest.
